
She is a professor at the Horticultural College and Research Institute for Women, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Tiruchirappalli, India. She earned her Ph.D. from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, and has over 14 years of experience in teaching, research, and extension work, particularly in plantation crops. Her research expertise lies in crop improvement and management in horticultural crops with a strong focus on cocoa, especially in addressing abiotic stress. She has been recognized with a Student Research Fellowship during her Ph.D. and has received specialized training in cocoa crop improvement from the Cocoa Research Centre, University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago. She has guided over 10 M.Sc. (Hort.) students and is currently guiding one more, while also serving on the Advisory Committee for Ph.D. students in Spices and Plantation Crops. She has authored more than 50 publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has actively participated in over 25 national and international conferences.
